Mental health- a serious problem that needs your attention

10 October is marked as world mental health day worldwide. According to the first national review on children and young people’s mental health, it was found that one out of every five children is not satisfied and happy with their lives. What are the main reasons behind it?

According to a survey from 2012 to 2018, the number of mental patients increases by two-third. The count of university students increased five times more in that same period. In the past 20 years, the prevalence of the mental disorder in five to fifteen years old patients increased by 16%. The need is to understand the reasons that increase the number of mental disorder patients.

In recent years, we get better in expressing our feeling, emotions, thoughts, wishes, and desires. By collaborating and sharing our emotional experiences with others help us to build social support. It creates a great impact on our mental health. those are don’t share their emotions or are not able to communicate with others are more likely to suffer from loneliness. So, they express their burdens and difficulties by anger, physical illness or by going under severe depression.

Role of social support in mental health 

If we share and express our emotions and feelings with others it will make us feel to be less alone and boost our confidence. There is a great impact of our environment on our mental health. If a child grows under the support of adults, then he can deal with adverse situations. If this not happened, then he makes himself a lonely and depressed person.

Without social support, we are more prone to developmental disorders because your environment gives you the power to deal with difficult situations. And you well-wishers guide you and help you to go through the hard times with having any negative impact on personality.

If we suffer from depression or any mental disorder, then we become more negative towards the world. To avoid that negativity, we must learn the ways to use that negative energy into positive ways. This can only be done with the support of others.

Today we have many effective treatment methods and evidence-based therapies. Even today there is a delay of the decade to provide any mental health facility to the person who suffered from any mental disorder. Healthcare cannot be the only solution for this.

Parenting is a critical job. Although it requires no qualification but it is one of the hardest task in the world. For better b brought up of children parents need strong social support.

Mental disorder is only the problem of a single individual, but it relates to our whole society. It has a great impact on our mental health. Those who are suffering from mental health problems need our support. So, it is obligatory, to help those victims with empathy and affection. Word mental health day should be a great chance to learn a broader experience from the world and to understand our responsibility within society.
