Single Energy Drink acts as Poison for Body, new study found

Studies have proved serious health risks associated with consumption of just a couple of energy drinks. Researchers declare even a single drink harmful for the whole immune system as it damages the cardiovascular system, liver, stomach, teeth and more.

People in the United States have still been using these as dietary supplements despite the damage it makes to the body. Healthy adults have experienced reduced blood vessel function after taking a single energy drink. The American Heart Association sessions have covered an extensive research over energy drinks consumption which proves its damage for the cardiovascular system.

New researches have shown that a single energy drink can be enough to damage the blood vessels in a way by dilating them and reducing diameter from about 5.1 percent to 2.8 percent. This makes blood flow difficult with less oxygen reaching the heart. Most people use energy drinks when they exercise to maximize their arterial function which in turn does the opposite for them.

The heart is deprived of oxygen supply and has to work harder to get its supply. Despite all these facts, energy drinks have gained popularity all over the world which is alarming. The harmful effects of energy drinks make them unsuitable for children under age 18, pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Men of ages between 18 and 34 have been known to consume most energy drinks. The cause of concern arises as to how can a single energy drink be so harmful? The answer is quite simple as energy drinks contain caffeine and Taurine which bring them under the intense debate of being safe or not.

Taurine is an amino acid which instantly energizes the system but does more harm after that. Although these drinks are poison for everyone, children and pregnant women should especially stay away from them as their immune systems are weak and cannot sustain the damage done to their body.

Impaired blood vessel health was studied through an ultrasound after a 90-minute study. The blood vessel function was tested for participants before and after consuming a 24-ounce energy drink. The ultrasound measurement showed a visible reduction in artery size which negatively affects health in every way.

The reduction is likely to cause high blood pressure, coronary artery disease or even a stroke. The negative impact is known to be linked with the ingredients in energy drinks which include Taurine. The well-known product Red Bull contains Taurine which is extracted from Bull’s semen and this is where the name comes from.

Over time, people have realized these drinks are just a mix of sugar and stimulants which will do no good for the body. It is much better to stand up and move to get an actual boost of energy. Without known and reliable benefits, even low-risk factors should be avoided to stay safe from any damage.

There are studies to prove adverse effects of caffeine intake on health if they exceed the daily recommended value. However, energy drinks contain such higher amount of caffeine which results as a rapid energy booster but does harm in the long run.

With the gaining popularity of energy drinks worldwide, it is important to study the effects on people consuming them on daily basis. Energy drinks might be available for instant energy but they are in return reducing the efficiency of blood vessels as most studies have researched.

An industry spokesman stated energy drinks as safe only because he represented the makers of them. Otherwise, the majority of the researchers have declared such harmful effects associated with just a single energy drink. It is obvious what damage it would have done to those consuming them frequently.
